David Beckham stunned by statue prank”

Click on the video at the top of the page to watch the fake statue of David Beckham being revealed.

Beckham was shockingly calm about the whole thing, and tried to make the case that the statue wasn't fit to be put outside the stadium, pointing out his horrifying eyes and significantly enlarged posterior.

With Galaxy president Chris Klein doing an impressive turn as an actor and Cordon nearly laughing himself to tears as he watched and listened from an adjacent room, Beckham eventually asked for the cameras to be turned off, saying: "If my kids were to see this, I think they'd just cry, to be honest".

Corden, who was watching the events unfold on a monitor backstage, could barely contain himself with laughter. "It looks like Stretch Armstrong...."

"I really don't see how this can go out", he continued, panic slowly starting to set in as he realized the public would soon see it in its permanent place outside the stadium.

During Monday's installment of The Late Late Show, Corden, 40, unveiled the hilarious joke targeting the retired British soccer player, one that was three months in the making.

"Thank God for that", he said in relief. I really don't see how this can go out.

After a litany of disastrous moments and Becks getting to the end of his tether with the ugly sculpture, a careless forklift driver knocked it over completely smashing it to which David - or Dave as we think we should call him from now on - said "I think you've done me a favour there mate".

"You've probably done me a favor there", Beckham quips as he somewhat relievedly stares at the splintered remains.

Then came the main course.
