Google Is Probably Making a Video Game Console

Google Is Probably Making a Video Game Console”

Now, the tech company is set to unveil its "vision for the future of gaming" at GDC next week.

Reports indicate Google is developing a new gaming platform ecosystem similar to Microsoft's Xbox LIVE, complete with new hardware.

If you haven't heard yet, Google plans to get into cloud gaming.

Google has invited people from around the world for the GDC event, which takes place next week, according to The Verge. Game Developers Conference 2019 kicks off on March 18th, and Google will be in attendance. It all kicks off on March 19th at 10:00 AM Pacific / 1:00 PM Eastern, and we'll cover the news here at Gamnesia. The games are powered by Google's high-performance computers, which then stream the images to the web browser in a similar way Netflix streams videos.

In the meantime, Google drummed up interest in its streaming event when it posted a YouTube countdown page Tuesday, inviting visitors to "Discover a new way to play". We'll be sure to update you once we have more information. There's also a curious little noise at the end that could be the noise Google's console makes when it's turned on.
