Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder closer to unification fight, says Eddie Hearn

Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder closer to unification fight, says Eddie Hearn”

Wilder, along with managers Shelly Finkel and Al Haymon and promoter Lou DiBella, met with DAZN executive chairman John Skipper and members of his staff in NY on Tuesday about a possible deal that would bring Wilder to the sports streaming service and include a potential fall fight for the undisputed heavyweight championship against three-belt titleholder Anthony Joshua, who is also fighting on DAZN. The report claims they've offered Wilder $50 million (£38 million) in a two-fight deal.

Joshua promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing was also chasing Wilder with a contract offer in order to sign him and bring him to DAZN, where he has an output deal, for a fight with Joshua. 'Now I think there's a strategy in place that could lead us to the undisputed fight.

Wilder spoke with Tha Boxing Voice and said a fight against Breazeale is not exactly a pay-per-view worthy fight because Breazeale does not "fit that bill" of a pay-per-view headliner, according to the long-time WBC heavyweight champion.

"It's pretty clear that one fight people want to see is Joshua and Wilder". There's a long way to go but we'll see where it goes.

Wilder has repeatedly accused Joshua of ducking him by making "low-ball" offers and expressed doubts that the fight could ever be made.

Wilder earned around £12.5m for his dramatic draw against Tyson Fury.

The deal means Golovkin's fights will no longer appear on pay-per-view, with his bouts now available to all DAZN subscribers at no extra cost. "AJ has business to take care of first against Miller".

Per Mike Coppinger of The Ring, Wilder and DAZN Executive Chairman John Skipper will get together this week in a meeting put together by promoter Lou DiBella. "When deciding on where I wanted to continue my career, DAZN's global vision perfectly matched my goals - not just for my career but the opportunity to showcase talented Eastern European fighters to the world". "We're confident he will bring his passionate fans to the platform as we produce tentpole events with his team over the next several years".
