Whoopi Goldberg's Surprise Visit After Health Scare Brings Tears On 'The View'”

Goldberg, who released a video statement last week discussing her near-death medical scare, said the illness was "hard" and "scary" for her and her family, and said she hopes that serves as a cautionary tale for everyone. I know that. But the only its only get better if it I begin.

Goldberg first found out she had pneumonia when she went to the hospital with a 102-degree fever. "Hurry back Whoopi and get some rest", Joy Behar said until screams from the audience interrupted her as Goldberg walked onto the stage.

"Sixty years of insurance money and you're telling me I can't get this machine?" she continued. "The guy said to me, 'What color is that?' talking about my face because I was some weird color", she said. You think that because you've healed quick before that something insane can't happen, well, it can. "You must really take care of yourself, because there is little tiny stuff out there that will kill you that you never think of".

Goldberg's appearance was a shock to her fellow hosts who were in the middle of giving an update on Goldberg's health. "Well, it can", she said.

She revealed, "The scariest moment was hearing my doctor say to me, 'You do realize how close to death you were?' That was, like, ', actually, I hadn't thought of it'". "He said, 'You need to be really clear in what this is". "Well, it can", she said. "I will ease back". She's been absent from the show for over a month.

She also explained that she got special permission to stop by since she missed the other ladies. Aww....

And while the relationship with insurance and doctors is a complicated one, Goldberg offered up at least one place to start. "I missed y'all!" she said, surrounded by her co-hosts.

"Thank you for all of your good wishes, all of the wonderful things people have bee saying".

"I think doctors should not be on insurance boards".

When things calmed down, The View's panel asked Goldberg about how she's feeling.

"These are things that we have the power to take care of". "This is my new [mission]".

"You can never leave me again, ever!" "I am, you know, I am not there yet - I know that".
