Chelsea fans denied entry to Prague match over alleged racist chant

Chelsea fans denied entry to Prague match over alleged racist chant”

Marcos Alonso's late header helped Chelsea to a hard-fought 1-0 win away to Slavia Prague in their Europa League quarterfinal first leg on Thursday.

Chelsea, working in conjunction with their away security staff, identified the individuals involved before the game, with three of the six - who had tickets for the game - stopped as they attempted to enter the Sinobo Stadium.

I don't know [why he made a decision to stay].

The anti-discrimination organisation Kick It Out tweeted: "It's not on the terraces, but it's still a disgrace".

Maurizio Sarri has said that Danny Drinkwater is not part of his plans at Chelsea FC this season.

Chelsea's Europa League campaign has been dogged by the misconduct of their travelling supporters. I didn't see him.

On Thursday afternoon a video circulated online of a small group of Chelsea "fans" singing about Salah.

Chelsea and Liverpool have both condemned the incident, with Liverpool describing the chants as "dangerous and disturbing". We have also witnessed numerous hateful attacks on social media.

"This behaviour needs to be called out for what it is - unadulterated bigotry".

Liverpool thanked Chelsea for their urgent action in a statement of their own, revealing they are already working with Merseyside Police "to ascertain the facts around this footage with the aim of identifying individuals featuring in it".

"Liverpool Football Club believes it is the responsibility of those in positions of authority, following proper process, to act urgently to identify and then punish anyone committing a hate crime".

As well as juggling two quarter-final games, Chelsea are very much in the race for fourth place, which makes April a vital month for securing Champions League football for next campaign.

There could be an argument to say Chelsea should go extremely strong against a Slavia Prague team that eliminated Sevilla in the previous round, as the Europa League is an important competition for the club.
