Epic Games Hires Infinity Ward, Respawn Entertainment Founder

Epic Games Hires Infinity Ward, Respawn Entertainment Founder”

Epic Games has hired Jason West, who co-founded Infinity Ward and Respawn Entertainment with Vince Zampella.

This is according to a tweet from Geoff Keighley.

Epic Games may have something in development. Jason West, co-founder of Infinity Ward and Respawn Entertainment, has apparently been quietly hired by the company. What that could be, however, is unknown. Keighley also says that West has been working at the company for roughly one month at this point. While West was at Infinity Ward, the developer worked on Call of Duty, Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. There they created the Titanfall series of shooters for EA.

For more information regarding Jason West's move to Epic Games, be sure to keep your eye on Mammoth Gamers news!

This will be the first gaming project that Jason West will be a part of since his departure from Respawn Entertainment. Epic Games' Fortnite has more than 200 million players on PC, consoles, and mobile devices, and in 2018, it made $2.4 billion from sales of cosmetics and its battle pass. Considering his pedigree, it's not hard to see why.

While much of the current news around Epic understandably focuses on Fortnite and the Epic Store, there's still a development studio there that is, presumably, working on original projects.
