Fire Breaks Out At Coachella On First Night

Fire Breaks Out At Coachella On First Night”

The first night of the Coachella Valley Music & Art Festival ended in chaos after a mobile shower unit went up in flames early Saturday morning. Campers said they heard "explosion sounds".

Following reports, the Riverside County Fire Department arrived to the scene around 2 a.m. and contained the fire by 2:28 a.m. Upon arrival, the shower unit was fully involved, near centre of venue. It occurred in a storage area of Lot 8 in the 81000 block of Avenue 51, the agency said. One damaged, one destroyed. Luckily, as reported by Billboard, the fire resulted in no injuries or deaths. Fire crews will remain on scene for 1 hour for overhaul.

The festival continues today with headliner Tame Impala, with Ariana Grande up on Sunday.

Though Coachella has been streaming its concerts for nine years, this is the first time the festival is offering the live performances online during both weekends.
