Arizona couple speaking out after video show baby being dropped at hospital”

Morgan then spent 12 days in the NICU, reported AZ Family, and though Monique was excited to finally bring her home, she noticed that her daughter was shaking and took her to a new doctor to be checked.

Now, Rodgers says her daughter has a grade 1 hemorrhage on the left side of her brain.

Dignity Health Chandler Regional Medical Center said it can not comment on or provide specific information regarding the incident in question due to patient privacy laws. "He didn't say anything", said Derrick.

"No one can prepare you for seeing the negligence, seeing them carelessly handle her", Monique told Phoenix television station KTVK.

A couple is speaking out after they posted a video on social media that shows a hospital employee dropping their newborn baby in the delivery room.

"I feel like she was treated as a sack of potatoes", she said.

Chandler Regional Medical Center in Chandler, Ariz., said it was taking video of a doctor dropping a newborn baby "extremely seriously".

Baby Morgan is saved by another staffer, who snatches her from mid-air after the doctor loses his grip on the child. "I did see the video and it was pretty disturbing", he said. "I would like to know if this was due to her having a low birth rate or if it was due to her being dropped on her head".

The nurse practitioner also said accidents happen in the chaotic delivery room environment, especially when doctors are looking to ensure a premature baby is breathing and responding like a normal infant.

Derrick and Monique are hopeful their daughter will grow up healthy and happy, but want the hospital staff to be more careful and learn from this mistake.

The hospital can not comment publicly on the incident due to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), but did say it took the incident "extremely seriously".

In a statement to FOX 10, Dignity Health Chandler Regional Medical Center explained they are working to review the incident.

Meanwhile, the hospital in Chandler released a statement saying it can not comment on the matter, citing patient privacy laws.

"The safety of our patients and their families is always our top concern", officials told AZCentral.
