Sex videos can't be used in Robert Kraft case, judge rules”

A judge in Palm Beach County has granted New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft's motion to suppress video evidence in his solicitation case. Hanser wrote in his ruling that police illegally obtained the video and didn't do enough to protect the privacy of customers who weren't suspected of soliciting prostitution, according to The Associated Press.

Judge Leonard Hanser ruled Monday that Jupiter police did not follow proper procedures after installing the hidden cameras that secretly recorded Kraft visiting the Orchids of Asia Day Spa twice in January.

The judge ruled Monday that prosecutors can not use video footage from the Orchids of Asia Spa because it was obtained illegally, ESPN's Adam Schefter added. Kraft, 77, has denied engaging in criminal activity, pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor prostitution solicitation charges, and requested a jury trial. Those videos, which will remain sealed, were a key form of evidence in the state's case against Kraft.
