'You're too short to talk': Ronaldo trolls Roma's Florenzi”

Following Cristiano Ronaldo's spat with Roma's Alessandro Florenzi on Sunday evening, the Italy star has now explained why he was so upset with the Portuguese forward. Ronaldo appeared to retaliate by mocking Florenzi, who is 5 ft 8 in, for his diminutive stature, allegedly shouting "you are too short to talk".

The jibe enraged Florenzi, who had to be held back by several team-mates to avoid an escalation of the spat, which was finally resolved without referee Davide Massa having to take any further action.

Well, nearly everything. Max Allegri's side suffered just their third defeat of the season to Roma on Sunday in the Italian capital, with late goals from Florenzi and Edin Dzeko sealing an important three points for a side chasing Champions League qualification.

He found the back of the net in the 79th minute.

Italy worldwide Florenzi attempted to confront Ronaldo but was ushered away by referee Davide Massa while the 34-year-old was shushing his opponent, before mocking his height with an insightful hand gesture.

His side then bagged a second goal thanks to a late strike from Edin Dzeko.

The pair clashed on the hour mark in the Stadio Olimpico in a row after the Portuguese star played the ball while Edin Dzeko was down and needed treatment.

"He's the Ballon d'Or and thinks he has the right to do everything he did. I say and do a lot of dumb things on the pitch too, but it stays there", said Florenzi.

Needing a top four finish to qualify for the Champions League, they are three points behind third-placed Atalanta and one adrift of Inter Milan, who have a game in hand.
