Bill Nye: It's Time to Realize 'the Planet Is on F*cking Fire!'

Bill Nye: It's Time to Realize 'the Planet Is on F*cking Fire!'”

Nye is an advocate for the Green New Deal, and both him and Oliver backed it on the HBO show Sunday night.

The Science Guy proceeded to state that, by century's end, the average temperature on earth could rise by four to eight degrees. "What I'm saying is the planet's on f-king fire", Nye said while setting a globe on fire with a blowtorch that had been hidden under his desk. And by "discussed, ' what we really mean is: He considered riding a sled pulled by 400 hamsters, made Trump jokes, and explained why carbon taxing may be an important tool in the climate fight". These emissions produce greenhouse gases that trap heat in the atmosphere - warming the planet up, causing ocean levels to rise as glaciers melt, and increasing the severity of hurricanes and storms.

But you can be anything you want on television, and in the late 1980s, hard at work pursuing a career in comedy, Nye landed a recurring bit as Bill Nye "the Science Guy" on Almost Live! So, he urged his viewers to grow up and make tough choices. But you're adults now, and this is an actual crisis!

Oliver ended the segment by telling the audience that he was "absolutely onboard" with Nye's "gritty reboot". "I have always been amazed that anyone would pay attention to Bill Nye, a pretend scientist in a bow tie". There are a lot of things we could do to put it out. are any of them free? "Got it?! Safety glasses off, motherf-ers".

However bumpy its rollout was, to its eternal credit the Green New Deal has succeeded in getting people talking.

John Oliver, who appears to be in support of the Green New Deal, continued to use the 20-minute segment to disprove the negative myths surrounding the deal, which didn't pass in the Senate. "No, of course not, nothing's free you idiots, grow the f-k up. That is seven pages shorter than the menu for the Cheesecake Factor".

Bill Nye is no more Mr.

"Bill, please, please!" Oliver begged.
