Dodgers Pitcher Julio Urias Arrested For Domestic Violence

Dodgers Pitcher Julio Urias Arrested For Domestic Violence”

Major League Baseball has placed Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Julio Urias on seven-day administrative leave following his arrest under suspicion of domestic battery, according to Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times. Perez of USA TODAY Sports.

Urias was booked on $20,000 bail.

The Dodgers said in a statement that they learned about what happened Tuesday morning and had no immediate comment while they are gathering information.

According to the same TMZ report, the Dodgers didn't have any specific comment on the situation at this time, but told TMZ, "every allegation of domestic violence must be taken seriously and addressed promptly".

Major League Baseball said it was conducting an investigation into the matter and is "in the process of gathering facts" while Urias is on administrative leave, which can be extended multiple times past the seven-day limit.

The Dodgers are scheduled to play a home game with the San Diego Padres at 7:10 p.m.

"Obviously, it's not ideal in any sense of the word", he said. The 22-year-old has made nine appearances - four of them starts - and has a 2-2 record with two saves and a 3.18 ERA.

Manager Dave Roberts has said the team would like to limit Urias' workload with the hopes he could move back into the rotation either late this season or next year.

Urias is one of the top young pitchers in the Dodgers' organization.
