Google Express is now Google Shopping, Feed and YouTube integration coming soon

Google Express is now Google Shopping, Feed and YouTube integration coming soon”

Google has just shared their plans to push more ads onto its mobile platforms.

In the coming few months, Google also plans to make accessible your trip information, including hotel and restaurant reservations, in Google Maps as well. The ad format will feature more luxurious lifestyle sort of ads.

At a conference a year ago in Las Vegas, Expedia Chief Executive Officer Mark Okerstrom called Google his company's most important rival. User privacy was barely referenced in a press briefing Monday.

The company wants to make it easier for users to discover and buy new products because they shop in brief spurts while watching TV or sitting in the bathroom, said Oliver Heckmann, vice president of engineering for Travel and Shopping. At Google I/O 2019, Google showed how the Assistant would ... Executives also pointed out that more people will likely click on ads with images, which could, in turn, mean they show up in more search results.

These changes come in response to questions about Google's business model in light of robust advertising competition from the likes of Facebook and Amazon, with the former now pushing deeper into e-commerce and the latter offering consumers a way to search for and buy products in a way that bypasses Google altogether. As a result, Amazon has been chipping away at Google's dominance in ad sales and will grow to 8.8 percent of the market this year from 6.8 percent last year, according to eMarketer, while Google's share expected to fall to 37.2 percent from 38.2 percent.

The ads would be displayed on the "Discover" section of the homepage in a news feed layout and would be algorithmically personalised.

Normal ads will now appear in Google's discover feed which can be found on homescreens of many Android devices, the Google mobile homepage as well as on the Google App. In this Shopping tab, they can filter products based on features, brands, read reviews and even watch videos about the products. "There's this presumption that if you can produce more supply there will be more demand; that's just not true".
