The New Stranger Things Lego Set Literally Turns Everything Upside Down

The New Stranger Things Lego Set Literally Turns Everything Upside Down”

A new set called "The Upside Down" has officially been unveiled, weighing in with a total piece count of 2287. No Barb though, so presumably her minifig was consumed by the monster in LEGO world as well.

Unfortunately for those impulse purchasers among you, it's not exactly cheap: The highly detailed set comes in at an eye-watering AUD$349.99, making it more of a special occasion purchase rather than something you pick while staggering around a 24-hour K-Mart blind pissed on a Sunday morning.

Available directly at the Lego Shop on June 1 (May 15 for Lego VIP members), the Byers' house will cost $200 and is made up of over 2,000 pieces.

Hop to it, nerds! Telltale were working on a Stranger Things game before they closed; dare we dream Netflix might try and finish the project itself?

This LEGO® Stranger Things toy includes 8 instantly recognizable Stranger Things minifigures from the hit Netflix original series: Eleven, Mike Wheeler, Lucas Sinclair, Dustin Henderson, Will Byers, Joyce Byers, Chief Jim Hopper and the Demogorgon. The Byers' house features Will's bedroom, the living room and the dining room.

The level of detail here is really astonishing, and you can see that this isn't simply an easy tie-in.

The communication alphabet on the wall includes a light-up function, and the house has small components including a desk lamp, movie posters, boombox, bed, desk, ax, coffee table, and other home features. The attic space includes a Mind Flayer drawing and a wizard hat for "Will the Wise".

The Upside Down set captures the look and feel from the Netflix original series, including creepy vines, dark colouring and a dilapidated look. Also included in the playset is Chief Hopper's police truck, which has a removable roof and a pumpkin (a reference to the mysteriously blighted pumpkin patches in season 2).
