Hot, sunny Memorial Day weekend ahead for New Orleans

Hot, sunny Memorial Day weekend ahead for New Orleans”

A storm system is expected to batter the Midwest on Friday before making its way to Pennsylvania on Saturday after and into Saturday night, AccuWeather reports.

Friday's weather started with an unexpected convergence zone that developed quickly, bringing a lightning-and-thunder show to some parts of the Puget Sound before dissipating just as rapidly.

The best chance for rain in central Pennsylvania will be into Saturday night.

Highs Saturday will reach at least the upper 60s with some lower 70s likely.

As we head into the long Memorial Day holiday, most of us are longing for sunshine, warmth and dry conditions...and maybe more so this year than in years past. It'll be windy, though, with gusts of 20 to 30 miles per hour, the National Weather Service says.

Saturday should be delightful with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid 70s. But if the front slows down a little bit, the clouds and showers could linger Sunday morning.

We saw another handsome day across the region.

Otherwise we'll have plenty of sunshine all three days, with Monday perhaps being the most ideal of the three.

But this year's Memorial Day isn't expected to break a record. This is almost ideal for all outdoor activities including those barbecues and any road races or golf games. Afternoon highs peak in the middle to upper 80s. We could see a few scattered showers with embedded thunderstorms Thursday evening. Turning cooler late in the day. Highs 72-76. Showers possible at night. Watching for showers ending early.
