Coffee isn’t as risky to heart health as some studies claim

Coffee isn’t as risky to heart health as some studies claim”

Despite its findings, Dr Astrid Nehlig, a spokeswoman for the Institute for Scientific Information on Coffee, says: "I absolutely would not recommend that anyone drinks that much coffee".

Out of the 8,421 people in the study who underwent MRI heart scans and infrared pulse wave tests, males were shown as the dominant group of moderate to heavy coffee drinkers, smokers and heavy alcohol consumers.

Even the most unquenchable coffee addiction won't stiffen the arteries and damage the heart, according to a new United Kingdom study.

Arteries carry blood containing oxygen and nutrients from your heart to the rest of your body.

Researchers from Queen Mary University of London, funded in part by the British Heart Foundation, looked at the artery health and coffee consumption patterns of more than 8,412 people.

In fact, it's so not bad for you that they found participants in the study who were drinking up to 25 cups a day's heart health was on par with those who were drinking less than one cup.

The study, led by experts at Aston University, included 4,803 people going to hospital with a cardiac arrest and assessed their five-year survival rate.

A study suggests having up to 25 coffees a day isn't bad for heart health.

A new study published Monday states that coffee isn't as bad for the human heart as previously thought.

Based on their consumption levels, participants were split into three groups: those who drank less than one cup a day, those who drank between one and three, and those who drank three or more.

"We would like to study these people more closely in our future work so that we can help to advise safe limits".

He highlighted that while some participants drank huge amounts of coffee, the average among the highest consumer group was five cups a day. This is because all of these reasons can create arterial stiffness without coffee drinking.

In the current analysis, coffee consumption was categorized into three groups for the study.

Researchers found that even those drinking up to 25 coffees a day were no more likely to have stiffening of arteries than those who drank less than one a day.

Prof Metin Avkiran, associate medical director at the British Heart Foundation, said: "There are several conflicting studies saying different things about coffee, and it can be hard to filter what we should believe and what we shouldn't".

The investigators noted that reports on coffee have been conflicting and confusing, and they hope their study will put these reports into perspective.
