Lorraine Kelly and Esther McVey in awkward TV exchange

Lorraine Kelly and Esther McVey in awkward TV exchange”

"Do you remember Esther McVey from her GMTV days?"

Watch this clip of Lorraine Kelly being asked about Esther McVey live on Good Morning Britain and try not to cringe.

There was another pause before Kelly replied: "I don't remember, love, I don't remember at all, I really don't".

The smiley TV presenter hastily moved on with the list of items coming up on Lorraine. Kelly glossed over the question, shook her head and said curtly: "Yeah, yes I do".

She replied: "I don't remember love, I don't remember at all, it was an terrible long time ago". "It was a long time ago".

"Ooh, if looks could kill she would be six feet under", Morgan gleefully responded as the shows other presenters continued to laugh.

After Kelly had introduced the upcoming guests on her show the camera cut back to Morgan and Reid were laughing awkwardly in the studio.

Former Work and Pensions Secretary Esther McVey, who is bidding to take Theresa May's crown as Tory leader, was excruciatingly snubbed by her former TV colleague Lorraine Kelly during a live broadcast. Commenting on the amusing moment, one person wrote: "I want to know the back story between Lorraine Kelly and Esther McVey", while another added: "Good grief!"

Another added: "So Lorraine's not a fan of Esther then".

And many accused Kelly of "throwing shade" at Mcvey with her reaction.
