Pakistan captain Sarfaraz.ssy pitch prepared for Australia clash, claims report”

Stoinis is set for a brief spell on the sidelines after picking up a side strain in the match against India last Sunday.

Pakistan had a practice session on Monday ahead of the ICC World Cup 2019 clash against Australia at Taunton.

Veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has urged his side to take the confidence from their win over hosts England into their next World Cup match against champions Australia.

International Cricket Council regulations allow injured players to be replaced during the World Cup but they can not then rejoin their squad if they regain full fitness later on in the tournament.

"He won't be available for tomorrow. Over the next couple of days we'll have a clearer picture on what that looks like", he added.

"(We're) not exactly sure on how many games he'll miss", added Finch.

"We know Australia will come down hard and with Smith and Warner back they are at their best again and we give respect to all opponents".

Stoinis, 29, was out for a duck against India but took two for 62 with his lively medium pace including a superb and caught bowled to dismiss MS Dhoni. The games would run concurrently with the World Cup tournament.

The extent of his injury is still unknown but CA have done well to fly Marsh in as an injury cover so that the all-rounder can get acclimatised to the conditions in case he will have to be drafted into the squad.

On the other hand Pakistan, after being battered by the West Indies in their opening game, back strongly to stun England by 14 runs to register their only win of this World Cup.

They are now fourth in the table with four points.
