AMD announced the Ryzen 9 3950X, a 16-core mainstream processor

AMD announced the Ryzen 9 3950X, a 16-core mainstream processor”

Although we're not entirely sure what AMD will announce at its E3 2019 keynote, we can make an educated guess that it will show some PC games running on AMD's newest Navi graphics cards, including the Radeon RX 5700 the company just announced at Computex 2019. But it does show what the AMD can do with the Zen 2 architecture.

AMD looks to shake up the processor market with the unveiling of its new 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen 9 3950X at the "Next Horizon Gaming" event during E3. In the other games, the Ryzen 9 3900X performs similarly to the Intel i9 9900K, something that will definitely please a lot of PC gamers. Like the rest of the lineup, the 3950X is a 7nm part based on the Zen 2 microarchitecture. By being able to shrink the die size to this level, AMD has been able to achieve a better ratio of performance and energy efficiency. The AMD Ryzen 3800X (which will target most gamers) will be priced at $399, will feature 8 CPU cores, will support 16 threads, will be clocked at 3.9Ghz with a turbo-boost of 4.5Ghz, and will require 105W of power. This makes it the highest core count chip ever released for a mainstream audience.

In case you're interested in getting your hands on the new flagship CPU from AMD, you can do so from July 7, 2019, by spending $750. The Radeon RX 5700 is rumored to be showcased during the stream.

While the $449 RX 5700 XT is the fastest Navi-nased GPU and also the first PCIe 4.0 card, the regular RX 5700 delivers great value for money at a very competitive pricing of $379.
