Marvel’s Avengers: A-Day gameplay shown; releases May 15th, 2020

Marvel’s Avengers: A-Day gameplay shown; releases May 15th, 2020”

The upcoming Avengers game will give fans the chance to play as their favorite heroes, such as Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man, and revisit other familiar characters and settings from the Marvel universe.

Some details about the game leaked prior to E3 2019 in an accidental listing on the E3 Coliseum website, which was later removed. From the trailer it really combines the epic cinematic visuals we've enjoyed over the last decade with video game action.

However, Square Enix also mentioned you can "unlock powerful skills and new gear", with "nearly limitless ways to customise" the heroes so we're certainly allowed to expect some sort of in-game transactions.

"'Marvel's Avengers' begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco - including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source".

According to the reveal trailer, and the talks that followed, it looks like Marvel's Avenger's will follow a story set in a completely new universe.

"As you go through that bespoke campaign, there will be missions that are tailored for certain heroes", Crystal Dynamics studio head Scot Amos told Game Informer.

Avengers hits PC, Google Stadia, and Playstation 4, and Xbox One on May 15, 2020. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband.

The four players co-op mode's "narrative will be delivered over multiple years" as well, Square Enix doubled down.

The first tease of this came in the form of Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man, who was shown in a cutscene shrinking a spider-tank.

The new Avengers feels like the next stage in a new era for Marvel console games. However, unlike most service games, Marvel's Avengers will offer all of its added content for free, and developer Crystal Dynamics has already promised there will be no sign of loot boxes anywhere.
