Sophie Turner's Parents Didn't Know She Auditioned for 'Game of Thrones'

Sophie Turner's Parents Didn't Know She Auditioned for 'Game of Thrones'”

And because she wasn't serious about auditioning, she neglected to inform her parents.

Turner spilled the beans to her Dark Phoenix costar Jessica Chastain for Vogue Paris (via Entertainment Weekly), revealing that she didn't take trying out for George R.R. Martin's precious Queen in the North very seriously.

Turner - who recently became a married woman to Joe Jonas - went on to explain that the fantasy drama's casting director, Nina Gold, went around to multiple schools, searching for young actors and actresses to join the series.

And while the show served as her professional acting debut, Sophie Turner admitted she didn't tell her parents when she auditioned for the HBO series back in 2009.

It is safe to say that Sophie Turneris becoming practically everyone's favorite actress and her latest story just proves why so many people love her. "We just thought it was kind of a fun, jokey thing to do. And we auditioned. And I guess I just got callback after callback..."

"My parents found out when I was in the final seven, and then my mom kind of freaked out, and she called my dad and said, 'I don't know if we can do this, '" Turner continued. "But my dad said, 'Shut up, this is what she has wanted her whole life".

She went on to explain that, yes, Perry had been rehearsing near her home.

Turner added that she had tweeted about Perry on the off chance that he would see it and ask her out "on a date or something". It was the best day ever'.

Sophie went on to recall how once she had landed the role, she and her mother celebrated with a pizza pool party.

Knowing that her intentions to flirt had failed then, Turner said she had tried to seek the help of social media in hopes that Perry would read her tweet and will suddenly become interested in her. "Thank you for teaching me to be kind and patient and to lead with love", she wrote.
