The Queen gives sassy response to man asking if she needs help”

But, when she was asked if she would like assistance with the planting, the Queen replied: "No, no, I'm still perfectly capable of planting a tree".

"I told her that the official wine for the Oxford and Cambridge boat race was English sparkling rather than French champagne and that English wine was becoming more popular and much better".

The Queen promptly picked up the spade and got on with the job.

A long-time worker, Teresa Stratton, told the Lancashire Telegraph that she'd mentioned how "We're the only place in the United Kingdom that does grape research" to The Queen and that she "was very interested" to learn that.

The royal finished the look with her favourite black shoes, matching handbag, and a pair of white gloves.

"And she said, 'I don't actually drink wine myself, but I hear it's very good'".

Her Majesty The Queen will officially open the new Royal Papworth Hospital this afternoon (July 9).

).

In case you were wondering if there's an age limit to planting ceremonial trees, allow Queen Elizabeth to debunk the myth for you: at 93-years-old, she reminded onlookers in Cambridge on Tuesday that she's "still perfectly capable of planting a tree".

She was greeted by crowds of flag-waving schoolchildren.

Stephen Posey, chief executive at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, added: "The visit of Her Majesty will be a wonderful opportunity to showcase what we have achieved and we are all very much looking forward to the day".

Accompanied by the Duchess of Gloucester they will tour the hospital's new building, also visiting the catheter laboratories and the critical care unit. The UK's first successful heart transplant was carried out at the hospital in 1979.

The Queen's recent outing comes just days after reports emerged suggesting she is passing on some of her royal duties as she takes steps to give up the throne.
