Lata Mangeshkar requests MS Dhoni to not retire on Twitter

Lata Mangeshkar requests MS Dhoni to not retire on Twitter”

The former Indian skipper faces a rather unforeseen request from yet another old familiar face, and this time it is not Charulata Das but much acclaimed play back singer, Lata Mangeshker who urged Dhoni not to quit global cricket.

In fact, a number of voices from across various platforms have also been asking Dhoni to bid adieu to the game after his another slow paced innings during Team India's narrow 18-run defeat against New Zealand in the semi-final of the tournament at the Old Trafford in Manchester. The country needs you.

Even though Dhoni hasn't officially announced his retirement, it would be interesting to see his response to Lata Ji's tweet!

Now that India's campaign in the World Cup is over, there is intense speculation about the future of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

She also dedicated a motivational song written by Gulzar to the Indian team. "Aaj kal main sun rahi hun ke Aap retire hona chahte hain.Kripaya aap aisa mat sochiye.Desh ko aap ke khel ki zaroorat hai aur ye meri bhi request hai ki Retirement ka vichar bhi aap mann mein mat laayiye.@msdhoni", Mangeshkar posted on Twitter. Some of the fans blamed Dhoni for batting slowly, which put pressure of Jadeja and he lost his wicket at a crucial stage of the match.

On being asked about the rumors related to his retirement, Dhoni had earlier told a news channel, "I don't know when I will retire".

All the hopes were on Dhoni's shoulder but Guptill broke the Indian hearts to send the Kiwis through to their second successive World Cup final.
