India’s Second Moon Mission Ascends Higher After Second Orbit Raising Task - ISRO

India’s Second Moon Mission Ascends Higher After Second Orbit Raising Task - ISRO”

The solid rocket motors of Chandrayaan-2 launch vehicle were machined on the 3-Axis CNC vertical-facing mill machine supplied by the HMT's Hyderabad unit, while its Kochi unit was associated in assembly of GSLV Vehicle Control System Components, informed general technical manager B.V.S.S. Prasad.

Isro chairman K. Sivan has described the 15-minute final landing manoeuvre as the most complex mission ever undertaken by the agency. The mission aims to achieve India's first surface landing on moon's south pole region, where it will collect crucial information about the moon's composition and regarding the presence of water and other minerals on the lunar surface.

Actor Priyanka Chopra seems immensely proud of the women scientists behind ISRO's latest mission "Chandrayaan 2".

On July 22, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched Chandrayaan-2 on-board its powerful rocket GSLV-MkIII-M1 from the spaceport of Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. This mission makes India 4th country after Russia, USA, and China for making a soft landing on the surface of the moon.

Once on the lunar surface, the Chandrayaan-2 mission is expected to last for one lunar day, which is roughly equal to 14 Earth days. In 2008, Chandrayaan 1orbited and discovered water molecules on its surface.

The spacecraft is scheduled to soft land on the lunar surface on September 7. Let us hope ISRO continues to master new technologies, and continue to conquer new frontiers in the coming days. ISRO is one public funded institution that is doing very well and showcasing the aspirations of Indian public.

In February 2018, a review discovered by the Space Science Institute in Boulder, Colorado water in the kind of OH - a much more reactive relative of H2O - all around the lunar area. Illustrious persons nurtured this institution to its present level of eminence.

The team analyzed data from NASA's MESSENGER spacecraft, a robotic orbiter that spent four years in the orbit of Mercury, and found that it suggested there could be caches of ice in permanently shaded craters. Our country is competing with other global players for a greater share of that launch market, and is known for its low-priced space programme. Time has now come when we will have to go to the grass-root level and inspire the youngsters to think of a career in space research.
