The Greatly Awaited Orion Crew Capsule of NASA is Ready for Testing”

It would likewise have the option to remain longer, including through the fourteen day lunar night.

Mike Pence, Vice-President of United States of America said in an announcement, "All thanks to the hard work of the men and women working in NASA as well as of American industry, the Orion crew vehicle for the Artemis 1 mission is complete and prepared to start planning for its momentous first flight".

"For all of the money we are spending, NASA should NOT be talking about going to the Moon - We did that 50 years ago", he said in a tweet from early June.

On Saturday, the space agency and Vice President Mike Pence announced the completion of the Orion crew capsule for the Artemis program.

Later in the week, a live two-hour NASA Television special - "NASA's Giant Leaps: Past and Future" - recognized the heroes of Apollo and highlighted our next giant leaps off the planet - to the Moon and eventually to Mars - with Administrator Bridenstine revealing the logo for the Artemis Program.

Orion is key to these plans, as is a huge rocket called the Space Launch System (SLS), which is in development.

NASA and Lockheed Martin are preparing for the first crewed test flight of the Orion spacecraft.

The module itself was built NASA's Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans and then shipped to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. It should then blast off from the lunar surface back to the orbiting satellite, where the astronauts will board an Orion capsule for the 250,000-mile journey back to Earth. He confirmed this during a Kennedy Space Center on the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing conference. The crew module is created to carry four astronauts beyond Earth orbit. "Now RTX real-time ray-tracing capabilities let them recreate how the sun's rays, coming from behind the lander, bounced off the moon's surface, how these rays interacted with the lunar lander to cast eerie lunar shadows, and even how the light bouncing from the lander and the moon's surface interacted with the astronaut's puffy space suits".

After months of consideration and debate, mission planners from NASA and the (ESA) European Space Agency have calculated the best orbit for the next-generation space station.

A fully functional Launch Abort System (LAS) with a test version of Orion attached, launches on NASAs Ascent Abort-2 (AA-2) atop a Northrop Grumman provided booster on July 2, 2019, at 7 a.m. EDT, from Launch Pad 46 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.

The container and its administration module were stacked together before in the week at Kennedy.
