Pocket Switch HDMI TV dock and charger from $49

Pocket Switch HDMI TV dock and charger from $49”

The epic thing they cooked up for Switch owners is the Genki Covert Dock.

This dock is now on Kickstarter, and it's already very funded.

While a spare first-party dock will set you back $85, Human Things is offering the Covert Dock to early backers for just $49.

The Dock features a custom charging chip that will only use a Switch-friendly profile when supplying power to your precious portable and will stick to USB power delivery standards for other devices.

Not only does the adapter work with the Nintendo Switch would also allow you to connect your Microsoft Surface, iPad Pro, Apple iPhone, GoPro Hero 7 and more to a HDMI connection on a large screen TV. Bam, now you can play on your friend's TV or whatever. Human Things is aiming for to have units delivered sometime in December, which means that pre-orders should arrive just in time for the holiday season. The Human Things team has already smashed their goal with over $400,000 in a day. "We've worked closely with experts in this field, including producers of the official Switch AC adapter, engineers of various docks in the market (including Insignia), and the developers behind reputable PD and GaN technologies (Navitas)".

The Nintendo Switch is known for its ability to be both a home console and a portable one, but portability is often the aspect that most people focus on.

"To maximize reliability, we made sure not to skimp on parts", the company said.

Following in the footsteps of the company's popular Bluetooth audio adapter - which lets you use wireless headphones with your Switch, this new product aims to get rid of the unnecessary faff of taking the standard dock out and about.

The Switch is notoriously susceptible to shorting out when connected to improperly regulated or overly powerful chargers, so it's reassuring to hear that Human Things accounted for this. Mobile gaming on the Nintendo Switch is awesome, but getting friends involved in co-op or going full throttle in multiplayer is something that really requires the big screen.
