Amazon's Alexa can now speak slower or faster

Amazon's Alexa can now speak slower or faster”

Amazon is marketing this change as an accessibility feature. For example, you could use the Echo Show 5 in the kitchen to send a message that plays from every other Alexa gadget in the house telling nearby family members or friends that dinner is ready. Customers in the U.S will now be able to adjust Alexa to their preferred speaking pace. Rival Google Home smart speakers have a very similar feature dubbed "Broadcast".

The update rolled out Wednesday.

Apparently, Amazon's Alexa voice AI has been intrusively listening for a trigger word which activates a recording function and enables the streaming of audio data.

Saying "Alexa, speak faster" will allow you to cycle through the faster rates and saying "Alexa, speak slower" will slow her down. While playing this announcement, all content that you watched on Fire TV is paused, and then it is automatically renewed.

Likewise, you can record announcements from the Fire TV's Alexa voice remote to broadcast through other Alexa devices.

You can order the Fire TV from Amazon, though its stock now appears to be limited.

The technology giant has also confirmed that the official YouTube app has now launched on all remaining Fire TV devices - the first generation Fire TV Stick and the first three generations of Fire TV. There's the default setting, as well as two that are slower and four that are faster. The YouTube app will simply appear in "Your Apps and Channels" row on the TV menu after the device has downloaded the latest updates. As you'd expect, the Fire TV can handle videos in 4K HDR at up to 60 fps on supported TVs.

Another notable improvement is the return of the YouTube app to Fire TV devices, after nearly a year and a half.
