Ninja Left "Disgusted" After Twitch Accidentally Promotes Porn On His Old Channel

Ninja Left

Popular gaming platform Twitch had a bad week last week.

However, he claims that Twitch is promoting other channels on his profile - something that the company doesn't do that for any other streamers. One of the top streams that Twitch has today promoted on Ninja's channel page was hardcore porn - meaning that anyone that went to the twitch.tv/Ninja page was greeted with a stream recommendation that showed pornographic material.

Since Twitch suspended the recommendation feature, Ninja said: "Twitch has now reverted my channel back to how an offline page should look. To help ensure they find great, live channels we've been experimenting with showing recommended content across Twitch, including on streamer's pages that are offline", Shear said on Twitter.

We're trying to get the channel taken down, or at least not promote other streamers and other channels on my brand and my profile.

In response to the video, Twitch CEO Emmett Shear said that the porn displayed on his offline channel "grossly violates" the site's terms of service.

On Sunday it was discovered that Blevin's old channel was promoting an account streaming pornography.

Having an account with pornography being recommended was a mistake, however, so they've permanently suspended the account in question while they investigate how such a mistake could happen.

Following Ninja's transition to Microsoft's Mixer, Ninja has taken to his personal Twitter account to discuss what has recently happened regarding his departure. His debut stream on Mixer, which hit an average of 65,000 viewers and a peak of 95,877, managed to beat his average views on Twitch.

Twitch says that the launch of Twitch Studio is in an effort to open up streaming and give new streamers an easier experience of getting started.

Earlier this month, Ninja left Twitch for an exclusivity agreement with Microsoft's streaming service Mixer. If anyone saw that, for anyone's kids who saw that, I just wanted to apologise - I'm sorry. Twitch also states that "sexually suggestive" content is prohibited.
