The Beatles' iconic Abbey Road cover shot 50 years ago today

The Beatles' iconic Abbey Road cover shot 50 years ago today”

Some people believed that McCartney having a cigarette in his right hand despite being left-handed proved he was an imposter, and saw hidden messages in him walking out of step with the others and being barefoot.

Recorded after the troubled Let It Be album, which was eventually released on May 8, 1970, Abbey Road was made in a much happier atmosphere.

Abbey Road Studios took to Twitter to share the celebration of their 50th anniversary. Starr is in a black suit and Harrison in blue denim. The fans had parked a Volkswagen Beetle in the background and got themselves clicked walking on the Abbey Road's zebra crossing.

Abbey Road soon became a tourist attraction, with many heading to their recording studio to get snaps on the road.

In honor the the album's 50th anniversary, the band will release a special edition featuring a new mix by producer Giles Martin (son of the album's original producer and longtime Beatles collaborator George Martin) along with 23 session recordings and demos, most of which have never been previously released.

"In cultural terms it's become iconic; the sleeve, the songs, the stories behind the songs", Bramwell told Reuters. The tracks and their writers are, "Here Comes the Sun" by Harrison, "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" by McCartney, "Octopus's Garden" by Starr and "Come Together" by Lennon.

Abbey Road was released on September 26, 1969, and was the next-to-last studio effort issued by The Beatles.

The Beatles' 11th album was released in September 1969, and after it hit the public domain fans were soon recreating the walk. "We met that night waiting for Paul and out he came", she said.

They wrote: "If you're planning on coming to the zebra crossing today and the queues are too long, step inside the Abbey Road auto park for one day only and take your photo with the original Beatles' 1969 image!"

Less than a year after "Abbey Road" was released, rock music's best-selling band had split up, ending a decade-long musical revolution that transformed the 1960s and laid the foundations of modern popular culture.
