$500,000 worth of items stolen from Alex Rodriguez's vehicle in San Francisco

$500,000 worth of items stolen from Alex Rodriguez's vehicle in San Francisco”

Alex "A-Rod" Rodriguez, a Coral Gables resident, left about $500,000 in jewelry and electronics inside of an ESPN producer's rental auto and a thief took advantage of his mistake in San Francisco.

The unfortunate circumstances come a week after Rodriguez received a positive response from the crowd at Yankee Stadium when he broadcast a Sunday night game between the Yankees and Red Sox on August 4.

"It's an unfortunate situation".

"I am saddened that several items that were of a personal nature and irreplaceable with sentimental value were taken", Rodriguez told The Post in a statement issued through ESPN.

The "Sunday Night Baseball" broadcaster was at the baseball stadium working with his ESPN crew for most of the day, according to the website.

A thief broke into the former Yankees slugger's rental vehicle sometime between 9 and 11 p.m. Sunday while it was parked about three blocks from Oracle Park, the San Francisco Chronicle reported, citing law-enforcement sources.

The Chronicle has reported that an "epidemic" of automobile break-ins had beset San Francisco in recent years. A thief stole a camera, a laptop, miscellaneous jewelry and a bag, with the missing loot estimated at roughly $500,000.

A week later, he was filing a police report after broadcasting a Giants-Phillies contest.

A-Rod celebrated his 44th birthday at his Miami home in late July - days after he gifted JLo a red Porsche at her extravagant 50th birthday bash in the city.
