Sterling 'Considering £100m Offer' From Nike To Wear Air Jordan Boots”

Manchester City star Raheem Sterling could be among be the very first footballers to wear Air Jordan boots as the iconic basketball brand furthers its reach into the handsome game.

The Telegraph reports that Sterling, whose contract with Nike runs out at the end of the season and is one of the most sought-after footballers commercially, could become the first major player to sign a deal with the Nike subsidiary.

Air Jordan, created in 1984 for Jordan himself, traditionally sponsors basketball players but also has baseball and musicians on its roster.

Sterling has been with Manchester City since 2015 after four years with Liverpool. If Sterling signs a deal with Air Jordan, he could be wearing similar designs. He has an existing deal with Microsoft to promote Xbox as well as EA Sports' FIFA game. The company entered the soccer market for the first time in 2018-19 by designing the kits for Paris Saint-Germain. The 24-year-old is in the final year of his current deal with Nike.

Jordan brand is a subsidiary of Nike and moved into football a year ago with the launch of a stunning "Jordan X PSG" range.

Sterling's profile has risen in recent years thanks to his outstanding play on the pitch, as well as his off-field comments regarding the media portrayal of young black footballers and racism in English stadiums.

And it seems Nike want to bring a professional footballer under the Jordan banner as well, similar to what they've done with in the USA with National Basketball Association. A deal worth up to £100 million.
