United Kingdom court to hear bid to stop no-deal Brexit next month

United Kingdom court to hear bid to stop no-deal Brexit next month”

In June, House Speaker John Bercow said it was "blindingly obvious" that the prime minister could not sideline parliament.

British Labor Party shadow secretary Diane Abbott said Monday the vote could be held within weeks, once lawmakers return from recess in September.

"It will not be lost on Jeremy Corbyn as he contemplates attempting to call a vote of no confidence that Boris could win an election with barely a third of the vote because support is so fragmented across all the parties".

With a majority of MPs opposed to the United Kingdom leaving the European Union without a deal, Johnson has suggested he would be willing to bypass MPs in order to achieve a no deal Brexit.

There are some news wires going around the block with reports in the Times and Telegraph addressing the concerns of a hard Brexit and Boris Johnson's fragile setting as the new PM.

The motion put forward by Labour MP Yvette Cooper forced Theresa May to extend the March 29 deadline.

The IFG report said: "It is now of no use to MPs who want to express their view on no deal; if Mr Johnson is set on no-deal he will not need to schedule any further meaningful votes".

The findings also support the view of the Prime Minister's top adviser, Dominic Cummings, who insisted opponents of a no deal Brexit had left it too late.

Mr Bolton is the most senior member of the United States administration to visit the United Kingdom since Mr Johnson took over at Number 10.

A legal challenge to try and prevent Boris Johnson shutting down parliament to force through a no-deal Brexit is to get under way later.

However, Johnson, who replaced Theresa May on July 24 after she failed three times to get her withdrawal agreement through parliament, has refused to rule out proroguing the House of Commons and Brexit supporters have vociferously encouraged him to do so if necessary to ensure an exit on October 31.

Mr Johnson has repeatedly pledged to be the Prime Minister to deliver Brexit by the deadline on 31 October, and has not ruled out suspending parliament to do so.

The initial hearing to determine how the legal challenge will proceed is due to take place before Lord Doherty later.
