Jon Gruden celebrated with 'black hole' after win

Jon Gruden celebrated with 'black hole' after win”

The Raiders took out all the frustration over the drama surrounding Brown's release with a convincing win over the A-F-C West rival Broncos.

Raiders rookie Josh Jacobs scored the first touchdown of his National Football League career on Monday night with a two-yard scamper into the end zone.

Joe Flacco's rhythm with his receivers was off as Denver's out-of-sync offense predictably struggled at times, not surprising after playing so little in August.

These are supposed to be the strengths of this team, so if you're looking at the glass as half full, you will chalk this up to just needing more time to play together and become a more cohesive unit.

Let's hear it for the rookies, Clelin Ferrell, Maxx Crosby, Josh Jacobs, Hunter Renfrow, Foster Moreau and Johnathan Abram, who all played a major part in the game plan. We were fine without him. Both drives ended with field goals, though. Star pass-rushers Von Miller and Bradley Chubb did combine for six tackles, but against this offensive line, they should've had the quarterback running for his life consistently. Derek Carr connected with his athletic tight end on two passes that went for 36 yards on the Raiders' first possession. He caught seven passes for 120 yards on the night as Flacco's favorite target. Sanders had five catches for 86 yards in his return from a torn Achilles tendon. He compared himself to a child who burned down the village.

Oakland Raiders cornerback Gareon Conley left the field on a stretcher on Monday against the Denver Broncos with a neck injury but "is going to be OK", according to head coach Jon Gruden.

"As ugly as it was for us in the first half we fought really hard", Flacco said.

Flacco did an excellent job of protecting the football and looked better than he has in years, finishing with 21-for-31 for 268 yards and a garbage-time touchdown to Emmanuel Sanders. He tortured Broncos' DB Isaac Yiadom repeatedly. Fangio spent the past four seasons as defensive co-ordinator for the Bears.
