Portugal's four-goal hero downplays chase for sixth Ballon d'Or”

The Juventus forward has now scored 93 global goals, 16 behind Iran legend Ali Daei's world record.

Cristiano Ronaldo took one giant step closer to the men's all-time global goal record by scoring four more for Portugal in a 5-1 rout of Lithuania in Euro 2020 qualifying on Tuesday.

Cristiano Ronaldo says he does not live thinking about individual prizes after being asked about the Ballon d'Or following his stunning four-goal haul for Portugal in Euro 2020 qualifying.

The European champions now sit second in their European qualifying table behind Ukraine. Serbia are a further point behind in third after a 3-1 win in Luxemburg.

Cristiano Ronaldo added another record to his collection after becoming the all-time leading goalscorer in European Championship qualifiers.

Three minutes later, Ronaldo was left free in the area to sweep home Bernardo Silva's cross and Silva also provided the pass for Ronaldo to sidefoot his fourth 11 minutes later.

"But it's good, I won't lie".

"That comes as a result of what is won collectively".

"I'm convinced that these players are capable of finishing top of this group", said Santos.

"It is up to me to continue helping the national team".

"I am happy and enjoying this moment, not because I scored the goals, but because of the level we have been able to demonstrate in recent years".

Ronaldo has started this season brilliantly, with six goals in his opening four games for club and country.
