Audrain Concours coup: Aston Martin debuts Centenary auto”

Joining the DB4 Zagato continuation model, the DBS Superleggera-based GT Zagato completes the firm's DBZ centenary collection. "It is the modern expression of a timeless icon", said Aston Martin executive vice president and chief creative officer Marek Reichman.

Meanwhile, the other vehicle - the DB4 GT Zagato Continuation - is a track-only auto which pays homage to the original DB4 Zagato.

The company Aston Martin presented a unique DBS Zagato GT, which will become part of a collection of 19 cars, the centennial of the Italian bodywork Studio.

Fans of the DBS Superleggera, on the other hand, can start feasting your eyes on the DBS GT Zagato.

Up front, the GT is kept standard by retaining the DBS's AMG-sourced 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 that makes 533kW/900Nm.

The new DBS GT Zagato is the showstopper of the two, though, with this new model coming with a 760bhp 5.2-litre V12 engine based on the stunning DBS Superleggera, though with an additional 45bhp over that auto.

The Aston Martin DBS GT Zagato has been promised for some time. Performance figures have not been disclosed.

The new DBS GT Zagato may well be worth its weight in gold, featuring 18-carat gold badges at the front and back and gold anodised side strakes and centre lock wheel nuts, while the "3D" machined wheels also feature gold colouring.

Aston claims a world first in the use of carbon and metal 3D-printed interior finishes, with one of the coatings taking 100 hours to print and prepare.

A "saddle" design in the middle can be had in three finishes - printed carbon, aluminium, or Gold PVD (physical vapour deposition; as part of the Centenary Specification). Aston Martin is also expecting many buyers to take advantage of its "Q" division, which allows for even further personalisation. No two cars will be the same. The special Zagato anniversary cars, limited to 19 examples each, are only available as a pair.
