Bernie Sanders' daughter-in-law dies at 46 after cancer diagnosis

Bernie Sanders' daughter-in-law dies at 46 after cancer diagnosis”

Her shocking death also comes the same day Bernie returned to his home state of Vermont after suffering chest pains, which later turned out to be a heart attack, during a 2020 presidential campaign stop in Nevada on October 1. "Thank God, I have a lot of energy, and during this campaign I've been doing, in some cases, three or four rallies a day all over the state, Iowa, New Hampshire, wherever. And yet I, in the last month or two, just was more worn out than I usually have been", he continued.

Outside his home in Burlington, Vermont, where he was recovering on Tuesday, the candidate told reporters he was "feeling good, getting some work done" after what his campaign later said was a myocardial infarction, a medical term for a heart attack. Those who have spoken to him say he is quick to shout down questions about his health, insisting that he's fine - and that he vowed to remain committed to the 2020 race in a Monday conference call with his entire campaign staff. So, and I should have listened to those symptoms, I should have listened to those symptoms.

Sanders, talking to reporters outside his home Tuesday, said he would release his medical records "at the appropriate time". Elizabeth Warren of MA and former Vice President Joe Biden. Tuesday's remarks were the first in which Sanders himself has been so open about what happened.

Far from admitting he was exhausted, Sanders tried to demonstrate that despite his age he remained robust and vibrant.

But he suffered occasional minor physical setbacks.

Pressed on what that meant, Sanders replied: "Well, probably not doing four rallies a day". I must confess, I was dumb. "When you're hurting, when you're worn out, when you have pain in your chest, listen to it".

Known for keeping a grueling schedule on the campaign trail, Mr. Sanders will often criss-cross a state with multiple stops for big rallies and smaller town hall-style events and gatherings. Many Democratic voters have said they anxious about nominating a septuagenarian candidate.

Last week began on a high note when Sanders announced that he'd raised $25.3 million during the year's third quarter, more than Warren and any other Democratic presidential hopeful. He will have had 14 days of rest between his procedure and the debate, when voters and rivals are likely to scrutinize his performance for any signs of fatigue or additional physical strain.
