Lottery player lands £170m EuroMillions jackpot in biggest United Kingdom win

Lottery player lands £170m EuroMillions jackpot in biggest United Kingdom win”

"It was quickly announced that the winning entry was sold in the United Kingdom, and the wait will now begin for the player to come forward and claim their money".

The previous biggest United Kingdom winners were Colin and Chris Weir, from Largs in North Ayrshire, Scotland, who won £161 million in July 2011.

It took a record-breaking run of 18 rollovers, when nobody wins the top prize, to push the booty up to its maximum amount, and it then went another four draws before finally being won.

However, because the EuroMillions jackpot has reached its cap of €190m, smaller prizes are boosted in size.

The massive Euromillions jackpot of €190 million must be won tonight.

It with a possibility of multiple millionaires across the entire EuroMillions community.

With the main prize won, it is the biggest-ever win in British history. If there are no winners at this level, it will roll down to the next tier of winners and so on.

The prize pot stands at more than £71 billion to date.

National Lottery operator Camelot said there have been four United Kingdom jackpot winners in 2019, who between them won £350 million.

The massive prize still pales in comparison to the $1.537bn Mega Millions US lottery jackpot won a year ago by a lucky punter in SC. The lucky stars were 3 and 12.

Andy Carter, Senior Winners' adviser at The National Lottery, said: "One incredibly lucky ticket-holder has scooped tonight's enormous £170 million EuroMillions jackpot".

The winning numbers on Friday were 06, 09, 35, 41 and 44, with Lucky Stars 06 and 09.
