Meanwhile, former silver-medallist Saweety Boora (75kg) lost her pre-quarterfinal bout in a split decision against Lauren Price from Wales.

In the quarters, the 36-year-old will face off the victor between Colombia's Ingrit Valencia and Bulgaria's Gabriela Dimitrova on Thursday. She is also reigning Commonwealth Games champion besides, being a three-time bronze-medallist at the European championships.

Last edition Bronze medallist and third seed Lovlina Borgohain (69kg) will face Oumayma Bel from Morocco after having a bye in the first round while Jamuna Boro (54kg) will be challenged by fifth- seed Algerian boxer Ouidad Sfouh on Wednesday. Her most recent conquest was in 2018 in New Delhi.
