Mostly cloudy, chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms — TODAY'S FORECAST”

Some wicked twisters churned across the High Plains on Monday evening - some doing severe damage to homes and barns. Pooling water on roads and in low-lying areas was reported in western Stearns County, the weather service said.

There was lot of hail damage between Pierce and Nunn, with reports of broken windshields and damage to vehicles from baseball-sized, Rudisill said.

The warm and humid weather, pretty typical for June all in all, will continue through the latter half of the week.

A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes in and near a watch area. Storms on Wednesday and Thursday may be strong to severe with high winds and hail. One source is the National Weather Service website for the Cheyenne Forecast Center, www.weather.gov/cys/.

But that warning was allowed to expire a short time later.

"Certainly we're much quieter this morning than we were Monday morning, " said McPike.

The severe weather threat shifts east on Tuesday and again Wednesday, but is expected to stay well to the north of Alabama.

The advisory includes the Wind River Range, Wyoming Range and Teton Range.

Bourque said the Riverton office identified four tornadoes on Monday, one north of Casper, one in Kaycee, one west of Worland and one in the Oregon Basin, which is near Cody.

The National Weather Service reminds residents to be mindful of flooding and to not drive or walk across flooded roads. Severe weather will not be widespread though.

Safety tips are available at www.weather.gov/safety.

Tonight: A slight chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms otherwise mostly cloudy with lows in the lower 70s.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy skies and a stray rain shower or thunderstorm will be possible, with a low temperature of 69 degrees. Chance of rain 40%. South wind 5 to 9 miles per hour.
