Vice President Pence Hires Outside Lawyer To Deal With Russia Inquiries”

Vice President Mike Pence's office on Thursday confirmed that Pence has retained outside counsel to guide him through the congressional and federal investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Agen said Pence "looks forward to a swift conclusion of this matter". Pence is scheduled to be in Indianapolis Friday to raise money for his political action committee. Michael Flynn, Trump's former national security adviser, misled Pence about his contacts with Russian officials - Pence then repeated the incorrect claims publicly. After that report, Pence reiterated a previous statement that he first learned of Flynn's lobbying in March.

The question of what Pence knew and when arose after reports surfaced that Flynn had discussed sanctions with Russia's ambassador to Washington, despite Pence's public claim to the contrary.

Pence - along with Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Kushner, Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and White House Counsel Donald McGahn - was one of the advisers the president consulted as he made his decision to fire Comey.

But at Thursday night's congressional baseball game, for which lawmakers were practicing when they were fired upon, Pence said the best of America will shine. He represents former FIFA President Sepp Blatter in the corruption probe into world soccer's governing body.

More news: Special counsel probes Trump for possible obstruction

The president hired his own private attorney, Marc E. Kasowitz, last month; yesterday, the Daily Dot reported via the Post that special counselor Robert Mueller will widen his investigation to determine whether Trump attempted to obstruct justice.

Comey told a Senate panel last week he believed Trump dismissed him to undermine the FBI's Russian Federation probe.

Richard Cullen is known for representing high profile clients. Cullen specials in criminal representation and has worked in situations similar to what's happening in Washington now, said Carl Tobias, a professor at the University of Richmond School of Law.

Pence's communications director Jarrod Agen said in a statement. There are few restrictions on how politicians can use funds in leadership PACs.

Mueller is investigating whether anyone on Trump's campaign, or associated with it, with him or any of his businesses, may have had any illegal dealings with Russian officials or others with ties to the Kremlin, said one US official familiar with the rough outlines of the probe and who spoke on condition of anonymity. "I think the allegations are sufficiently tied to campaign-related matters that campaign funds would be appropriate", he said.
