11 million tune in to watch One Love Manchester concert”

Adding to the emotion of the benefit concert was the attack in London that took place the night before, killing seven individuals and injuring 48.

Today's One Love Manchester tribute concert has been filled with emotional performances, thoughtful tributes, and a touching amount of perseverance and collective love.

According to ratings analysis site overnights.tv, 22.6 million viewers tuned in to watch at least three minutes of the concert, held to support the victims of the terrorist attack at United States singer Ariana Grande's Manchester Arena show last month. Grande appeared throughout the three hour concert, performing duets with numerous artists, including a cover of Crowded House's "Don't Dream It's Over" with Cyrus.

Elsewhere in the evening, Miley Cyrus took to the stage with Pharrell Williams to sing his hit track "Happy", whilst Ariana's boyfriend Mac Miller joined the star for a rendition of their popular duet "The Way". They're the same beneficiaries of her 2014 single One Last Time that continues to climb the charts following the Manchester attack.

And at the time of writing, the whopping sum has already been raised through ticket sales, merchandise, and other donations, with over £2 million alone coming from text message donations from within the United Kingdom during the three hours that the concert was aired for.

The One Love Manchester concert has notched up a new record to become the biggest TV show of the year so far - attracting a peak of more than 14 million viewers on Sunday night. On Friday, Grande's label Universal Music Group announced it was donating $500,000 to the fund.
