Audrey Viso of St. Joseph's Academy claims Gatorade girls soccer honor”

Audrey Viso of St. Joseph's Academy has been selected as the 2016-17 Gatorade Louisiana Girls Soccer Player of the Year, according to a press release from the Gatorade Company.

Harrison was on hand to present Osman with the Gatorade National Boys Soccer Player of the Year award. The others were Makenzie Meade in 2009-10 and Ariela Schreibeis in 2007-08 and 2008-09. Lawman scored 34 goals and 19 assists as Winfield won its fourth straight state title, having won three straight in Class AA before the Generals moved down to Class AA this season. Each victor also demonstrated high academic achievement and exemplary personal character, including volunteerism, sportsmanship and community leadership.

Viso volunteers locally for Special Olympics events and also is involved in community-beautification projects.

"Pulley is a technically superior player who adds exceptional tactical understanding and physical speed", said Tanya Santee, head coach at Riverton High. "That combination makes her incredibly hard to deal with". A native of Ghana, he finished his high school career with 63 goals and 45 assists.

As a Gatorade Player of the Year, Ashlynn will be able to select a national or local youth sports organization to receive a grant as part of the Gatorade Play It Forward program.

Lawman's award is the fifth Gatorade state girls soccer player of the year award given to a Winfield student-athlete. 12 spotlight grants - one for each sport - will be announced throughout the year.
