Orlando shooter was a disgruntled former employee who 'targeted' victims”

The shooting happened early on Monday morning in the east of the city. Seven people survived the shooting. A witness told deputies that he saw Neumann and the employee arguing but did not see a physical fight. He says no survivors were shot or hurt.

The 45-year-old suspect was apparently upset with his employers because he had been recently fired.

Florida Governor Rock Scott urged people of the state to pray for the families of the victims killed in "this senseless" act of violence.

Active shootings, which the Federal Bureau of Investigation defines as events that leave three or more people killed, happen most often in workplaces.

Authorities say John Robert Neumann Jr. shot and killed himself Monday after fatally shooting his ex-co-workers. Once deputies arrived to the scene two minutes later, they found three men and one woman who were already dead, Demings said.

The sheriff said the shooter was a former employee at the business and was sacked sometime in April of this year.

This is the second instance this year of a disgruntled ex-employee who has been accused of returning to a former Orlando workplace to kill.

Gomez says the woman told her that the gunman had told her to leave the facility. She used the phone of a tile business across the street to call 911, said Yamaris Gomez, the tile store's owner. Fiamma Inc.is a family-run company more than 70 years old, according to the company's website. No details about the victims or the shooter have been released.
