Will Jose Mourinho block Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United transfer?

Will Jose Mourinho block Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United transfer?”

Re-elected Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has described the uncertainty surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo's future as "very strange".

Last Tuesday, a Madrid-based prosecutor's office accused Ronaldo of four counts of tax fraud totaling 14.7 million euros ($16.5 million).

Portuguese sports daily A Bola had also claimed that Perez had already been informed of the 32-year-old's decision. It hasn't finished yet and I don't want to disturb the Portuguese team.

Portuguese outlet A Bola claimed that the national team skipper, now playing at the Confederations Cup in Russian Federation, has told his agent Jorge Mendes to get him back to Manchester United.

"We do not see any reason not to continue with the players we have, including James", he added.

"The last time I spoke to Ronaldo was after the Cardiff match [the Champions League final] and we spoke about next season". I have a good relationship and a good friendship with Cristiano and I want to talk to him.

Real Madrid released a statement saying they had "full confidence" in their player, and they were convinced he would prove his innocence. We have not received any offer for Cristiano, nor for [Álvaro] Morata [the striker wanted by United] or James [Rodríguez].

Ronaldo, Portugal's all-time leading scorer, is the latest in a long line of soccer players in Spain - among them Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Neymar - to be caught up in cases over tax or transfers.

Mourinho left Real Madrid in 2013 to manage English club Chelsea for a second spell before signing with United in 2016. I have not spoken to any [other clubs]. I've heard everything through the newspapers. "The only thing I know is that he feels mistreated by the media".

Perez insists Ronaldo will not be leaving Real this summer, contrary to reports.

"What happened to him has affected his credibility".

Ironically, a return to United, where he would reunite with Mourinho, has been mooted. "No one had told us anything and we are delighted with him".
