Hawks reportedly trade Dwight Howard to Hornets for Miles Plumlee, Marco Belinelli”

The Atlanta Hawks have agreed to trade Howard and the No. 31 pick in the National Basketball Association draft to the Hornets for Miles Plumlee, Marco Belinelli and the No. 41 pick, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski. The latest move has Dwight Howard being traded to the Charlotte Hornets.

The Hawks signed Howard to a three-year, $70 million deal last summer after the 31-year-old spent the previous three years with the Rockets. Howard made $23.1 million in his first year of the deal.

Clearly, Howard is in decline, which is why he's been working on his 3-point shot to extend his career. "But in order for me to play longer, I have to expand my game". In his first season, Howard averaged 13.5 points and 12.7 rebounds per game, which is the most rebounds he's averaged since the 2011-12 season with the Orlando Magic. The decision was surprising, as the team has agreed to trade center Dwight Howard after just one season, according to ESPN's Marc J. Spears. He had butted heads with point guard Dennis Schröder a few times during the season, and it was clear the pair was not going to work out.
