Philando Castile's Last Words Recorded By Police Dash Cam”

Police have released the dashcam video footage of the fatal shooting of Philando Castile by Officer Jeronimo Yanez last summer, and now many are even more stunned that the officer was recently acquitted. Kauser returned to the vehicle to pull out the 4-year-old daughter of Diamond Reynolds, Castile's girlfriend.

Trevor Noah blasted the NRA for remaining silent on the police killing of licensed gun owner Philando Castile, who was fatally shot during a traffic stop that was streamed live on Facebook.

The 10-minute video, which was released by Ramsey County in Minnesota, shows Yanez driving behind the white sedan Castile was driving before pulling him over.

Yanez was freed, as Daniel Payne writes at The Federalist, because Americans "have a queer aversion to convicting police officers when they quite obviously break the law", a "deeply dysfunctional and unhealthy attitude about what constitutes acceptable police behavior", and a "profoundly stupid and misguided deferential attitude toward law enforcement". The scene grew more choatic as Yanez shouted obscenities and blamed Castile for his death, saying, "I told him not to reach for the gun".

Castile: Sir, I have to tell you I do have a ...

The video is graphic, gut-wrenching and hard to watch but attorneys who represented Yanez during the trial say it shouldn't change people's opinions of the verdict.

An audio recording captured Castile telling Yanez he had a gun in the vehicle, and the officer telling Castile not to reach for it. Seconds later, Yanez opened fire.

Yanez radios for help, and minutes later, after additional officers arrive, they pull Castile's body out of the auto and attempt to render aid. As Reynolds said while pleading for her boyfriend's life, Philando Castile was by all accounts "a good man".

It took just 40 seconds for an ordinary traffic stop to turn deadly - from a police officer saying "Hello, sir" to him firing seven shots at a seated motorist.

The victim's furious mother, Valerie Castile, said outside court: "I'm mad as hell right now". Also made available were the audiotape interview of Yanez by BCA investigators, the radio call by Yanez, full reports from the "use of force" experts used by both the prosecution and defense and photos of Philando Castile's gun, his wallet and permit to carry a weapon. I don't know if it was in his pocket or in between the seats or the center console. I thought he had the gun in his hand, in his right hand. "I couldn't get a look at the other passenger, and I'll wait for you".

"No, no, no", Terrill said after viewing the video. "Please, Jesus, no", she is heard wailing.

After Yanez was ruled not guilty on all counts for the murder of Castile, activists and critics have pointed out a laundry list of problems with the case.
