Parts of KP to celebrate Eid tomorrow

Parts of KP to celebrate Eid tomorrow”

It is pertinent to mention here that Shawwal 2017 moon was sighted yesterday in Saudi Arabia, Gulf countries including USA, UK, Germany, Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Japan.

India's less Muslim populated states like Gujarat and Rajasthan are all set to celebrate Eid al-Fitr if they will sight the moon today. The zonal committee's moon-sighting meetings will also be held in Sindh, Balochistan, Peshawar and Punjab.

However, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee (CRHC) will meet in Peshawar today in connection with Shawwal moon sighting.

Following the announcement, people hit the street for last minute shopping of groceries, new clothes, footwear and other items for celebrating Eid.

Therefore, it is likely that Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on June 26 across the country. Bangladesh will take a call first followed by India and Pakistan based on Sun set timing in the respective regions.

Varying geographical and weather conditions meant that people in different locations can not see the appearance of the crescent the same day, making Muslims around the world fast on different days.

The Met office's press release revealed that the birth of moon will take place on crossing conjunction point at 00-45 PST on 25-06-17. Hence Muslims here will complete the 30 days of Ramadan and celebrate Eid on Monday June 26, 2017.

Controversy over moon-sighting couldn't be put to an end this year as Eidul Fitr is being celebrated in some parts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa province today after Masjid Qasim Ali Khan announced to have sighted the Shawwal moon on Saturday evening.
