President Muhammadu Buhari's EID-Fitr 2017 Greetings To Nigerians

President Muhammadu Buhari's EID-Fitr 2017 Greetings To Nigerians”

A statement by the President's Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu says the President made the call in his message to Nigerians on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr.

President Muhammadu Buhari has allegedly sent Eid el Fitr greetings to Nigerians today as Muslim faithful in the country join the rest of the world to celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

The Presidency has released President Muhammadu Buhari's voice message to Nigerians to debunk reports that he is suffering from speech impairment.

He spoke at his Aguda residence in the Presidential Villa, Abuja when he received a delegation of the FCT Muslim community, led by the the minister Muhammad Bello who paid him Sallah homage.

The President also urged all citizens, irrespective of their socio-political affiliations, to always avoid hate speech and divisive tendencies capable of causing disaffection among them.

"Our unity is not negotiable".

According to the acting president, the gains of unity include, love toward one another, integrity, enjoying the endowments of the nation, gaining respect globally and diversity among others. We should make sure that we remain united in order to enjoy the resources God has blessed Nigeria with.

Pastor Omokri said that, "Ideally, the President should have spoken in English first, then if he feels like it, he may also speak in Hausa", because "the way he has now spoken only in Hausa makes it seem as if he is only concerned with those who gave him 97% of the votes while those who have him 5% can take a hike!"

In choosing to deliver the greeting in the Hausa language, the cabal behind Mr. Buhari wanted to whip up sentiments within the northern parts of Nigeria and to create the impression that the president was in good health, contrary to the claims of SaharaReporters. "So many nations envy what we have as a nation", he said. "He will serve this nation and complete the period of his service in good health, in good shape and our country will be the better for it", he stated.

He said the kind of harmonious relationship they have exhibited needs to be replicated in the thirty six states of Nigeria.

Prayers were for the quick recovery of Buhari.

The clerics commended the Acting President for guiding the country so well in the absence of his principal.

Present at the event was the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, some legislators and members of the Federal Executive Council.
