President Trump slams Democratic 'obstruction' on healthcare reform bill

While discussing the Republican health bill during an interview on "Fox & Friends", Trump said it would be great if lawmakers from both parties could "come up something that everybody's happy with".

On Saturday, Rep. Mark Meadows -- who was intimately involved in the House healthcare negotiations -- said he could envision a scenario in which the Senate passed the bill this week, the House votes Friday and President Trump signs the bill on the Fourth of July. President Donald Trump is waiting, eager to deliver on a campaign promise to repeal the law.

(Des Moines) - At least one prominent Iowa Democrat is voicing concerns about the Senate Republican health care plan unveiled Thursday.

So Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell can afford to lose two members of his caucus but no more and still have the bill pass.

There are some differences between the House bill and the Senate bill, but overall, many people are concerned if the Affordable Care Act is repealed, because the replacement could leave millions of Americans without coverage. As the only Republican who is up for re-election next year in a state that Hillary Clinton won, he may be their only shot at picking up a seat.

The Senate measure would make major cuts in the Medicaid program for poor and disabled people. She said that the Affordable Care Act is critical to getting her daughter the care she needs.

The Nevada senator joins four other Republicans in expressing opposition to the draft bill as it is now written.

Hillary Clinton put on the boxing gloves once again to fight back against the forthcoming Senate healthcare bill. So basically people would get help, but they would still have to pay even more of their medical bills.

Separate reports released Friday by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, a think tank in Washington, highlighted numerous same areas of concern in the Senate bill for states.

Ironically a number of his targets, who are either opposing the bill in its current form or remain uncommitted, were in the audience here. Sen.

Protesters called on U.S. Senator Ron Johnson Friday, June 23rd to vote "no" on the Senate's proposed health care bill.

"We've gotten signals that our senators are very concerned about the impact on Medicaid. And small tweaks over the course of the next couple weeks, under the guise of making these bills easier to stomach, can not change the fundamental meanness at the core of this legislation", Obama wrote in a statement on Thursday. "It would raise costs, reduce coverage, roll back protections, and ruin Medicaid as we know it", the former president added.

It also noted that there are factors affecting Medicaid spending over which states have little control over, such as growing numbers of baby boomers, and it specifically cited Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico as state that will see their bills for health care rise as those boomers age.

Senate Republican leaders are scrambling for enough votes to approve their health care legislation as soon as this week. "I think August is the drop deadline", for passing Obamacare repeal, Cornyn said. "There's still an opportunity to make this bill better", he said.
