The Walter Camp Foundation's watch list for the nation's fourth-oldest individual college football award, its player of the year, includes 40 players representing 30 schools and 10 conferences. Only Alabama has more players listed with four.

The senior Auburn placekicker - who was also a first-team preseason All-SEC selection - was named to the watch list for the Walter Camp award, which is given annually to the Player of the Year in college football.

It's important to note that the eventual Walter Camp victor is not required to make this list, meaning another Big Ten player could take home the award in January.

Redshirt sophomore safety Derwin James made the watch list despite playing in just two games last season. James was among FSU's leaders in virtually every major defensive category in 2015 and was previously named to the Maxwell, Bednarik, Thorpe and Nagurski watch lists. The presentation of the 2017 Walter Camp Award will take place at the Walter Camp Foundation's annual national awards banquet on January 13, 2018 in New Haven, Connecticut.
